Dr. Aaron Rundus is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at West Chester University and is West Chester University’s co-director of the Shinehouse Gishwati Research Station. Dr. Rundus’ research focuses on the evolution and function of animal signals with a focus on anti-predator and multimodal signaling systems. His dissertation research examined the use of infrared radiation as a communicative signal modality by California ground squirrels. After receiving his Ph.D. in Animal Behavior in 2007 from the University of California, Davis, Aaron began postdoctoral work on the multimodal signaling system of wolf spiders at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. In 2008, he joined the long-term research project on the chimpanzees in Gishwati forest, Rwanda and currently serves as the co-director of the Gishwati Primate Project.
