The Shinehouse Gishwati Research Station offers services to individuals conducting short-term and long-term research in and around Gishwati forest. We offer bunk-style lodging in our dormitory facility and have a limited number of private single rooms. Descriptions of the services we offer can be found after the following table. Typically, long-term researchers will hire their own cook/cleaner and purchase food and supplies from the local market and we can assist in this process. Researchers may also use the research station staff cook and cleaner for these services (see our Groups page for information on rates)

Reservation Fee: All researchers staying at the research station are required to pay a non-refundable reservation fee at the time of booking. This is not an individual fee and is assessed per project.
Lodging: Lodging fees can be paid quarterly upon arrival at the research station. Please note, although the dormitory can house up to 24 individuals, there is limited availability for private rooms.
Trail Maintenance: The trail maintenance fee can be paid quarterly upon arrival at the research station. This fee applies to research that is conducted inside Gishwati forest and is used to maintain the trail system.
